<>      Things are still somewhat in the planning stages. At the minimum we are offering you all a great observing site.
The last dark sky location between Chicago and Minneapolis. This is truly a remote site. There are no amenities of any kind.
No Water, No Power, No Shelter of any kind.  You must be totally self reliant and contained.
The only thing we are providing for sure is the dark site, and those wonderful porta-potties!

Weekend Schedule.  Be sure to fully understand the below schedule.
And the Rules at the bottom of this page, as well as the rules stated here in the weekend schedule..

Friday March 20th, 2007
We will be arriving Friday in the early afternoon around 2 PM or so. So, attendees can arrive anytime after that.
On Friday and Saturday Nights, There  will be a strict curfew!    We are all coming here for the dark skies right?
There will be absolutely no driving between 8 PM and 5 AM  Except in the case of an emergency of course.
So, if you have equipment to set up, and need your vehicle to do so, you MUST arrive before 8 PM.

If you can NOT stay the whole night, please park at the off site parking area, on "Coy" Road and walk into the observing area.

The curfew also applies to lighting. Between the hours of 8 PM and 5 AM it's the Dark Zone Time!
Absolutely no white lights. AND  absolutely no BRIGHT RED ones either!
We have been at star parties where someone will have a "RED"  light,  but it is soo bright, it still ruins everyone's night vision.
It MUST be a DIM RED light. Only bright enough to be able to see by.

Make sure your vehicle is also Dark Site friendly!  If lights operate inside or out they MUST be dim RED ONLY!

As another interesting activity, on Friday evening,  the group from Near Space Sciences,
will be attempting to launch one of their payloads to the Edge Of Space!

Should be interesting!

Daylight Hours on Saturday:
Please be quiet.  Many people will be sleeping from their long night of Observing.

Late Saturday Afternoon.
We hope to offer some sort of a Dinner for everyone.  And by Popular vote, The Hobo Stew won.
So, Everyone bring something to add to the Pot.  YUM!
A Hobo Stew Cookout

Where everyone brings something to add to the pot for all to enjoy!
Saturday Night:
More or Less the same as Friday Night. As far as the Observing goes.

Sunday:
We all hope we had a great weekend. And we need to finish this up at a reasonable hour.
So we request that you try to be all packed up and ready to leave as soon as you can.
We hope the site is empty and all cleaned up as if we were never there by 3 PM or so.

So PLEASE as soon as you can, Drop Us a Note at,  joe@dzsp.org  and let us know if you plan on attending.
